I slept in until 9:30 this morning and got going to a cafe around 11.
I chose Artillery Cafe, got a latte and worked on the blog.
Around lunch time I ordered the Mediterranean platter, which was really delicious and filling.
I went back to the hostel and chilled at the pool for the rest of the afternoon. I read some more of the Power of Now, which I’m really starting to get into. It starts off a little foo-foo and annoying, but I’m really starting to like it now that I understand what’s it about a bit more.
I was in my room editing my podcast when two new girls walked in. One was from Canada, the other from Germany. We all started chatting, then realized we were all hungry so we decided to get dinner together.
We went next door to the mall, which has a huge food court on the top floor.
I circled the entire floor once and found absolutely no vegetarian, let alone vegan, options. I circled it once more, and asked the potentially vegetarian-friendly places if they made vegetarian fried rice or vegetarian summer rolls. But nobody spoke English and I couldn’t get through to anyone.
I went up to Beret (sp?), the German girl, and told her I didn’t know what to do. She said the lady she ordered from spoke English, so I went up to her to see if I could communicate anything at all to her.
Luckily, she understood me when I asked for fried noodles with vegetables and no egg.
While I waited for my food to be cooked, I went to a tea place nearby and got black tea with grass jelly.
The noodles were surprisingly good, if a bit oily. But much better than expected.
I got a smoothie after from the food court as well. I ordered banana and passion fruit, but it was way too icy. The consistency was way off and it just was not good at all.
I went back to the hostel and watched Atlanta before going to bed.
However, the room was ridiculously hot for some reason and it took me forever to fall asleep. I hate when that happens– I feel like I’m never going to fall asleep and I get so annoyed and anxious.
