1/12/18: Podcasting In Chiang Mai

I woke up around 8 am and ate some bread with mashed banana and passionfruit.

I met up with Nick (a hostel friend) to have coffee at a local coffee shop and we chatted for a good while. After that I went back to the hostel to blog a little, and then I met Julien (Pierre’s friend who I spent a week with in the Philippines) for lunch. He came up from Bangkok to spend some time in Chiang Mai for a few days. We went to this cheap vegetarian place called J Station. The food was pretty good for the price. I especially liked the little mock meat soy patty things.

After lunch I was craving a smoothie so we walked across the street to the same stand I went to a few days ago. It’s called Mr. Coconut I believe. I had an amazing watermelon & coconut water smoothie. I thought it would be too water-y, but it was actually so good!!

Next up on the agenda was a podcast recording. Yesterday, on our hike, Nick agreed to doing a podcast episode to share his story. I can’t wait for you guys to hear it! It’s a really incredible episode: super inspiring, raw, funny, piercing. It’s a conversation about being being honest with yourself, getting rid of the negative in your life, self-awareness, and mistakes & short-comings. It’ll be out in a few weeks! Subscribe to No Bull on apple podcastsΒ (or google play or spotify) so you can hear it hehehehehe.

After the recording, we walked back to the hostel and snacked on rosemary bread & jam. So good.

It was around 7 pm and we were a little hungry, so we decided to head over to Reform Kafe, a vegan place, for dinner. 3 of the 4 of us were vegetarian/vegan, so I was happy they were down to try an all-vegan restaurant. I got pumpkin curry soup (SO GOOOOODDD!!!! Creamy, rich, flavorful, omg), rice, and glass noodle salad (also v good. So many mushrooms!!).

I went to pick up my laundry after dinner but the place was closed. Wah wah. So I went to 7 Eleven to feed my ice cream addiction. I finally got the name of the brand that sells the vegan ice cream sticks!! It’s called Ete Ice Cream. I got black sticky rice flavor this time, and OMG this might be my new favorite. It has actual sticky rice in the popsicle!! I died.

After I got home I just blogged for a bit and then went to bed. Relaxing yet somewhat productive day!
