  • Australian Survivor

Only a few people in my life know that I am a Survivor fan (I guess the cat’s out of the bag now 😅)… but yes it’s still on!! And now there’s an Australian version that’s really good. Apparently season 1 sucked so I didn’t watch that one, but season 2 has been fantastic so far. Lots of interesting characters & twists.
One of the contestants, Sam Gash, was recently on the Rich Roll podcast! She’s an ultra-endurance athlete with a super cool story. It’s fun to watch her on the show, knowing her background a bit deeper than the other contestants.

  • Mandoline

I bought this a few months ago, and it has turned out to be one of the best $20 purchases of my life!! I’ve been using it every day to cut everything from veggies to cheese. It’s SO convenient for whenever you need anything thinly sliced!!

The one shown above is the one I own and I always see it at restaurants, so I feel like it’s one of the best out there. I got it at Win Restaurant supply store in Soho, but you can find it online on eBay or Amazon.

  • Vlogging 

This is a new project of mine… creating YouTube videos! It’s a little scary, intimidating, and difficult, but also SO much fun! It’s completely different from the other activities (like podcasting, blogging, Instagramming) I do.
It’s amazing how much I’ve learned already in the short time since I started. I’ve mostly been sharing what I eat/vlogging my days, and I can’t wait to see where it takes me!

  • Trader Joe’s raw almond butter 

I don’t think I’ve ever had raw nut butter before, but I decided to give it a try. I got the crunchy kind, and OH MAN it’s addicting. So creamy and delicious… 10/10 recommend. And it’s only $5.99 at Trader Joe’s.

  • Sahadi’s hummus/baba ganoush

I decided to check out this middle eastern grocery/bulk food store in Cobble Hill, Brooklyn, last week and BOY AM I GLAD I DID!! They have a TON of stuff in bulk– nuts, dried fruit, grains, seeds, spices, etc. They also have a full olive/pickle bar. Head to the back for select ~ethnic~ products like curry paste, tea, hot sauce, as well as hard-to-find local products. They also have a large prepared section for salads, hummus, falafel, tabbouleh, etc. There’s also a bakery section, but I sadly did not find any vegan goods. 😢

After a half hour of the usual deliberation: “Do I need these dried kiwis?” “Can I really afford to spend $10 on pickles?” I ended up with a container of their hummus & baba ganoush, plus a bag of bulgur. THE HUMMUS AND BABA GANOUSH OMG!!!! Best.of.my.life. Seriously. I’ve been craving it every day since the day I tried them. If you live in NYC, you NEED to go.

I recently picked up meditation again after about a year off. The last time I was consistently meditating, I used the 10-day free trial to Headspace, and then, after trying out a bunch of free meditation apps, settled on Insight Timer.
This time, I decided to re-download Headspace and actually buy a year membership. It’s $7.99 a month, so it’s not SUPER cheap, but it’s not crazy expensive either. I think the payment is good motivation to actually utilize the app and, you know, meditate. So far, so good– I’ve been doing it almost every day (I haven’t done it on days that I’m out of town/traveling) and enjoying it!

  1. I’m new to your blog, but I love your writing! All the food in this post looks divine, and congrats on the new YouTube channel!! I also like to try and meditate, but it’s so hard to do in a college dorm because I never feel like I have alone time. Look forward to reading more! xx
