Whenever I come back from a trip or experience a major event, I like to do a little gratitude exercise. In this case, I just got back from a week in Belize. While it was absolutely amazing and beautiful beyond my dreams, the trip definitely renewed a sense of gratitude in me. I believe expressing gratitude is essential to happiness, and it’s a nice way to reflect on the experience.
I usually just write the list down in my phone or journal, but I thought I’d share it publicly this time just for fun.
Some of these are due to poor planning/preparation on my part, and others are due to it being a developing country, but all of these are things that I tend to take for granted in my day-to-day life.
I am grateful for:
- Clean showers
- Towels
- Shampoo/conditioner
- Less catcalling
- Non-dairy milk
- My cooking
- My apartment
- Career options
- Safety/space/ability to run
- Good plumbing systems
- Beer options
- Clean water
- Water fountains
- Fast internet
Stay tuned for more blog posts about what I did & ate in Belize– those will be up shortly!
In the meantime, I’ll leave you with a few pics as a teaser…
Belize looks stunning! We’re headed there in two weeks for a week so I look forward to seeing what you did!
