Things I Love Right Now (October 2016)

Today I’m sharing a few of my current obsessions. They range from food to TV shows, but all are things I think you’d enjoy as much as I do. If you guys like this post, please let me know by commenting/liking. If I get enough positive feedback, I’ll try to do a “Things I Love” post every month!

Popcorn Indiana Sriracha Popcorn

I cannot properly explain how amazing this popcorn is. I’ve had other brands of sriracha-flavored popcorn before, but they can’t even compete with this one. It has the perfect combination of spiciness and just a touch of sweetness. I bought it on a Saturday, finished it by Sunday, and then went out and bought a new bag the next Monday… yup… I am no longer an autonomous human being. I’m a slave to this.

Oi Ocha Unsweetened Green Tea

This is the most refreshing drink ever. I have been in love with this tea since childhood, and I don’t see myself falling out of love anytime soon. If you like green tea, you will love this. You can find it at pretty much any big grocer. I buy the big 2 liter bottles for about $4 at my local Key Foods in Brooklyn.oi ocha.jpg

Casey Neistat’s YouTube channel

Casey Neistat is a Youtuber who lives in Manhattan. I usually don’t watch vlogs because I find them a little boring, but his are next-level. He uses drones, go-pros, rides around the city on a boosted board (an electric skateboard), has an adorable daughter, and seems like one of the most genuine, kind people. (Real talk: I work near where he lives, so I’m always hoping I’ll bump into him… no such luck yet though. cryinge emoji.png #creeperstatus) I know next to nothing about videography and editing, but his friendliness, dedication, and creativity inspires me with every video he uploads. Check out one of his latest vlogs here to get a taste of what his channel is about.

Chao Cheese

I’ll be the first to admit that good vegan cheese is hard to come by. Most vegan cheeses I’ve had don’t taste anything close to the real thing—they don’t melt, have a strange aftertaste, or are just plain gross. The vegan cheeses with good reputations (Miyoko’s, Treeline) are made with cashews, which I’m allergic to, so those are a no-go for me. However, Chao cheese, a coconut-based product of brand Field Roast, has reignited my faith in vegan cheese. I’ve only had the “creamy original” flavor so far, but OH MY GOD it actually melts and tastes good. I have it on toast from time-to-time and I love it. I’d imagine it’d also be good on pizza, pasta, wraps, etc. The slices even come with little holes in them, like it’s Swiss cheese or something. Who pays that much attention to detail? I mean…??! It’s a MUST-try.

Better Things

Better Things is a new FX TV show co-created Pamela Adlon and Louis CK. Adlon (you might know her as Pamela, Louie’s girlfriend, on Louie) also stars in it as an actress and single mother of three kids. If you liked Louie, you’ll like this show. Even if you’ve never even heard of Louie, but you like smart, relatable comedies, you’ll like this show. It’s on Thursdays at 10 pm on FX (but I stream it on my laptop). There have only been four episodes so far, so you have time to catch up!

Frozen grapes

Frozen grapes are bomb.png. Just wash some grapes (I prefer purple ones since they’re sweeter), tear them off the stems, put them in a plastic bag, and freeze them! I often eat them after dinner or a workout for a juicy, healthy treat. They’re a lot of fun to eat because they’re crispy on the outside yet chewy on the inside, and the sweetness still comes through even though they’re frozen.

I hope your October is filled with fun discoveries and new obsessions. :)

  1. I’m vegan and allergic to cashews too, so I feel your pain haha :) and most raw desserts have cashews which is super annoying
