“What are some good vegan restaurants in NYC?”
I get this question all. the. time. ALL THE TIME. So I figured I would answer it once and for all with a list of my favorite vegan spots in NYC. These are not all 100% vegan, but 100% of them do have great vegan food.
LOWER MANHATTAN (below 14th street)
- Buddha Bodai
- Peacefood Café
- By Chloe
- Nix
- Beyond Sushi (various locations)
- Rockin’ Raw
- V-nam Café
- Cocoron
- Souen (various locations)
- Sweetgreen (various locations)
- Taim
UPPER MANHATTAN (above 14th street)
- Hangawi
- Chennai Garden
- Blossom Du Jour (various locations)
- Little Beet (various locations)
- Dig Inn (various locations)
BROOKLYN
PLACES YOU CAN SKIP:
- Quintessence in the East Village (Bad service, mediocre food)
- The Butcher’s Daughter in Nolita (Cute interior but more vegetarian than vegan-friendly and a bit over-priced)
- Red Bamboo in Greenwich Village (Mediocre vegan comfort food; there are other places that do this better. See Champ’s, By Chloe, or Peacefood. )
- Little Mo in Bushwick (Bad pho)
RIP “what are some good vegan restaurants in NYC.” She lived a good life. She is survived by “how do you survive without cheese” and “where do you get your protein.”
I’m dying to go to By Chloe! NYC is so close yet soooo far from Toronto haha
Come to NYC!!! We’d have so much fun heheh
I’m planning to visit one day!
How DO you survive without cheese? ;) We’re not vegan, but we try to sprinkle vegan meals in to create some balance, and there’s no question there are some great places in the city. Will add some of these to our list!
