This post was inspired by my fascination with other people’s morning routines; there’s something about them that is so revealing. I’ve been consistently doing this routine for about 9 months now, so I thought I’d share it with you all.
My morning changes slightly depending on whether I work out at the gym or run outside, but below is my typical weekday morning on the days that I run outside (which right now is most days).
5:20: Wake up & drink water [about 12 ounces]
5:30: Meditate for 10 minutes [I use the Insight Timer app]
5:40: Get dressed
5:50: Eat half a banana & warm up for the run [this is my warm up routine]
6:00: Run [3-7 miles, depending on the day]
7:00: Drink water [around 8 ounces] & stretch
7:10: Shower & get ready for work
7:40: Leave for work & eat a rice cake and some dates along the way [I eat Lundberg brand rice cakes]
8:20: Eat breakfast [over night oats with almond milk, cocoa powder, cinnamon, 1/2 banana, berries, and almond butter; microwaved for a minute] & drink 12 oz coffee with around 1/2 cup soy milk
8:30: Check email/social media & read the news [I subscribe to the Skimm]
I also drink around 8-10 ounces of water throughout the remainder of the morning, but that’s pretty much it. I’m otherwise working at my desk.
What’s your morning like? Any life-changing habits to share? Let me know in the comments below!
Great post! I’m always interested in morning routines too!
It all sounds very healthy apart from when you say you use a microwave. That’s just cray cray.
